Which file types does it support?

csv, dita, ditamap, docx, doxygen, dtd, excel, html, idml, java_properties, json, odp, ods, odt, pdf, plaintext, po, pptx, ppt, rails_yaml, resx, rtf, subtitle_rip, table, ts, xliff, and xml.

Can I translate desktop files?

Yes. The Lingotek Filesystem Connector can handle almost any desktop file, as long as it is saved in a file folder. Simply designate the file folder, and all contents of the folder will be sent for translation.

Where do I access completed translations?

You can pull all completed translations, or you can download specific files for specific locales. These files will download to the original folder, with the locale listed immediately after the file name.

For example, if you translate ‘sample.txt’ into Japanese, it will be downloaded as ‘sample.jp_JP.txt.’

How do I create a translation project?

Use these commands to translate create your desktop files.

init       Create a Lingotek project
add       Add content to a project (Could be one or multiple files, specified by Unix shell pattern)
push       Send updated content to Lingotek for documents that have been added
request       Add targets to document(s) to start translation, defaults to entire project
status       Get the status of a specific document or all documents
download       Download translations for specific documents and specific locales
pull       Download translations for all documents in the command line utility
