TMS Workbench

Lingotek's translation management system (TMS) Workbench is the most powerful and easy-to-use online translation editor available today. You have all your resources at your fingertips -- from translation memories, glossary and terminologies to machine translation, formatting and community voting. The Workbench helps you conveniently monitor your projects from a single dashboard.

Translation Options To Fit Your Project and Your Budget

Not all content is created equal, so Lingotek developed a Content Value Index (CVI) to easily identify the relative value of each content type and create customizable workflows that correspond to each type.This helps you control costs by matching our translation tools to your timeline and budget. Sometimes the general meaning of a text is all you need or want from your translation. In these cases, machine translation with translation memories provide the perfect combination of speed, accuracy and cost. Google translate and Microsoft MT are offered free of charge in the workbench.

Leverage Your Linguistic Assets for Greater Efficiency

Lingotek supports the easy upload of your existing TM files and your linguistic assets. And because Lingotek is in the cloud, your TM is centrally stored and managed, making it immediately accessible upon creation to other projects and translators. No more emailing TM databases back and forth between translators, or merging disparate TM files post-project.

As changes are made to your files, Lingotek updates the translations so that only the new and/or modified text gets sent for translation, saving on the cost of translation. Stored TM automatically fills in unchanged content allowing translators to only focus on new content changes.It also automatically prompts translators when a term in the source text matches an existing glossary entry. This helps maintain corporate branding, voice, and style and saves on the cost of translation.

Real-Time Collaboration Saves Time and Improves Quality

Lingotek’s cloud-based file system and online workbench enable linguists to work collaboratively on the same document at the same time. Translators and reviewers can see one another’s edits in real-time. Lingotek even provides real-time chat and segment-specific notes for instant collaboration. Community users provide colloquial and subject matter expertise for greater accuracy of translation and a configurable community voting system ensures only the best translations get accepted.

Automated Quality Checks

The TMS Workbench includes enhanced quality assurance functions like spelling and grammar checks. This helps professional linguists incorporate quality checks during the process of translation, earlier than is typical in the localization process. The sooner automated quality checks are introduced in the localization process, the more likely errors will be caught before they ever reach the public eye, saving your brand from potential embarrassment.

Lingotek’s spelling and grammar checks can be done either manually or automatically and currently supports 24 languages for spelling and 15 for grammar.

Our Workbench also includes a Quality tab inside Lingotek’s translation Workbench, project managers, translators, and reviewers can run quality checks beyond traditional spelling and grammar. Lingotek’s quality checks use rules to detect hundreds of error types, allowing linguists to quickly navigate to the segment, review,  and correct potential quality issues before delivering the completed translation. Errors such as missing format tags, missing terms, punctuation differences, malformed or missing IP addresses, email addresses and many more, prevent costly localization mistakes and improve efficiency of the overall translation process.

Lingotek’s quality checks search for a wide-range of quality issues, such as:

  • Locale: Incorrectly localized dates, times, or numbers
  • Markup: Tag applications for bold or italics by segment, and missing placeholder tags
  • Length: When translations are suspiciously shorter or longer than expected
  • Omissions, additions, and untranslated elements
  • White Space
  • Patterns: Improper format for email or IP addresses, missing, or incorrect punctuation
  • Terminology Checks
  • And many more
